OUR STORY

A little door
to a big welcome.

Cucharita was born from love, from growth, and from the wish to share even more of Mexico with Houston.

After almost ten years of welcoming guests at Cuchara, our Mexico City–inspired restaurant, our growing catering business needed a bigger kitchen. Instead of simply adding more space, we saw the chance to create something special: a place where mornings could be as memorable as evenings.

That dream became Cucharita.

Inspired by the charming bakeries of Mexico City, Cucharita is a cozy bakery and café where fresh pan dulce, the sound of coffee brewing and the warmth of Mexican hospitality come together every day. Everything is made with care, from traditional breads and cakes to comforting breakfasts, handcrafted coffees, fresh juices and signature cocktails.

Like Cuchara, Cucharita is a celebration of authentic Mexican culture: every recipe honors tradition, every detail reflects our heritage, and every guest is welcomed like family. Whether you stop by for a quick coffee, share chilaquiles with friends, pick up a birthday cake or take home a box of pan dulce, we hope Cucharita becomes part of your own celebrations and everyday moments.

Artist · Mexico City

Cecilia Beaven is a Mexico City-based artist whose work draws from the deep well of Mexican folk art, contemporary illustration, and a personal visual language that is at once playful and profound.

Her large-scale murals at Cuchara and Cucharita transform our dining rooms into living galleries, bringing the walls alive with vibrant forms, folkloric energy, and the unmistakable spirit of Mexico City.

Beaven's work has become an essential part of the identity of both Cuchara and Cucharita, a visual extension of the bold flavors and warm hospitality that define our restaurants.
